Edit: Like people in the comments noted, there are some places the following warning does not apply. So take note:)Most probably know this but I will post this anyway incase someone don't. You can join all factions, and there will be a message, as in, the game will warn you when you have to make the important choices. The reason I felt inclined to post this is that personally I COMPLETELY avoided ALL factions except the one I was set to join. Because I thought that once you join a faction, all other factions will either hate you or not accept you. I lost out on a shitload of content on my first character due to this misconception.
So do not be afraid of joining all factions you find and do quests for them. Again I know most here probably know this by now, but it really sucks if someone does not and misses out.
